BIOGRAPHY

Julio Khoza from the streets of the East Rand Side , Daveyton (eVutta) Daveyton, genuine Dj and possibly your future favorite as he would describe himself. Born 15 March 1988 raised by he’s parents Emily and Lucas which are he’s greatest inspiration.

Studied at Inkatha Ka Zulu Primary School matriculated at Lesiba Secondary School then went to study Journalism and Media Studies at Demelin Benoni city campus
I grew up in a musical environment cause my father used to collect cassettes and records, he loved reggae and Rnb. Got exposed to house music when I was still in primary school.

I had a friend by the name of Jabulani Mashigo now goes by the name of Jabu Ndlovu, Jabu was a very spoiled boy and he’s parents used to by him Dj Fresh`s compilations so he used to borrow me I remember very well it was 2002 when Dj fresh released FRESH HOUSE FLAVA 5.

My love for House music grew very Fast as I started listening to radio stations that where familiar and that played a lot of house music stations like Yfm 99.2 when legends like the late Fana Khaba (Khabzela) where still hot on radio and they used to release CLUB Y SESSIONS presented by Dj Fresh and mixed by the late Dj Monde.

I had two friends who listened to the same music around my hood so we used to share music, talk about music and think of what we can do to influence everyone to hear what we always talk about cause they used to think we are some crazy dudes who have no hope. Then in 2008 we decided to form a group “The Funk Masters” it was me Julius Khoza aka Gman aka Lord G'mza, Mpendulo Gumede (Pezo) and Piet Thipe (Dj Formal), we started as resident Dj’s at a Tarven “Ebhandeni” doing Sunday sessions which gave us no hope but we kept holding on till we bought our own sound system in 2010 then went to become resident Dj’s at Zake’s place.

In 2012 I decided to start doing mixtapes “Local Connection” which became a great success and a good exposure for me because I started gaining recognition and started getting bookings and friends from around the world.
