Burnin' Vernon

Hot Spot Radio / Good Times Gang   ))   Good Times Gang, Toronto, Canada

Some stories are predictable. Finding Burnin’ Vernon behind the decks is hardly surprising given the many musical chapters of her life: musician, singer in a band, Music teacher, all-around music-lover. She began as a singer and acoustic guitarist in a little town in northern Ontario, writing her own folky tunes and jamming with friends. In 1997, she experienced her first rave: the renowned Arrival party in a farmer's field outside Montreal, Canada. The lights, the people and Mr. Jeff Mills were enough to hook the impressionable musician forever. She spent the better part of the late 90's raving in Montreal and clubbing at Ottawa's Atomic nightclub, dancing to Max Graham's Friday night sets. Despite years of this, she had not yet ventured behind the booth. Not until 2006. Now residing in Toronto, she fell in with a group of people who would change the trajectory of her life. All fellow DJ's and party-goers, she slowly transitioned from the dance floor to the decks. By 2012, she was casually spinning in friends' living rooms after late nights out and playing at magical Summer Camp parties every year.

She lives somewhere between techno and tech-house, thanks to her annual pilgrimage to Detroit and quick jaunts to Berlin. She'll catch your attention right from the start with her signature punchy intro...and she'll keep you there all the way till the end. Delicately blending deep, chunky bass sounds with a steady techno beat and melodic vocals or synths, Burnin' Vernon has earned a humble yet loyal following who lovingly beg for more.
