Music and sounds of Artistic CanDo

Artistic CanDo (whose real name is Thabang Hlongwane) is a Cape Town based DJ, versatile producer and remixer. He was born at Pretoria and spent his childhood in Soshanguve, and later moved to Cape Town.

His love of music began at a tender age and was fueled mostly by the artists his father used to listened to – The likes of Jabu Khanyile, Bayete, Hugh Masekela and Caiphus Semenya.
During his early teens, he started collecting and buying deep house CD compilations of the SA pioneers (DJ Christos, Vinny Da Vinci, Glen Lewis, DJ China SA & DJ Fresh ‘Big Dawg’), which later led him into the DJ scene.

In 2011, Thabang Hlongwane decided to step back from the DJing scene and venture into the music production side. His music style is influenced by producers such as Trancemicsoul, Culoe De Song, Rocco, Kojo Akusa, ReelSoul, Da Capo & Problem Child. He has gained massive recognition and following throughout the journey and his music has been featured in a lot of podcasts by Ceega Wa Meropa, Mjeke Blessful Underground Sessions, Session Madness 0472.
